connected to ground water and surface waters like the Boise River.
Stormwater awareness and taking appropriate actions to reduce stormwater pollution is everyone's job and is essential to protect the health of our local waterways.

Ada County has been considered one of the fastest growing communities in the United States since 2017.
Planning, preparedness, and diligence are necessary to mitigate stormwater runoff from construction activities. Projects that impact Ada County right-of-way are subject to permitting and inspection.

Green Stormwater Infrastructure

Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) mimics the natural environment using plants and soils to capture stormwater runoff from the street, prevent flooding, and remove pollutants. Examples of GSI would be vegetated stormwater basins and permeable pavers. GSI is a priority consideration on all ACHD projects.
