Please check local weather and road conditions before traveling in snow and ice. 

Leave early and give yourself plenty of time to clear your car of snow.

Make sure all of your tires are in good condition for winter driving.

Fully scrape and defrost all sides of your car! This includes all side windows, headlights and tail lights, side view mirrors, car hood, and the top of your car. 

Leaving snow on the top of your car is dangerous for not only you, but the people around you. When the snow gets loose it can slide down to block your view, or fly off as you drive hitting other vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists. 

Slow down and watch out for all commuters.

Leave plenty of space between you and the car in front of you.

Turn on your headlights no matter what time of day!

Never pass a plow on the right, and give them plenty of space. Remember don't crowd the plow!

• Roadside emergency accessories (Flares, reflectors, etc.)

• Extra batteries and phone charger
• Snow Chains or rope
• Jumper Cables or Box

Keep those storm drains clear! Keeping these clear helps prevent localized flooding. If a storm drain is not clear, you can use a rake to clear leaves and debris away from the storm drain. Please do not remove the grates.
