The Ada County Highway District is excited to announce a new Chief Communications Officer, Shandy Lam.

Lam joins ACHD from the City of Meridian where she severed at the Communications Manager. She oversaw all internal and external communications spanning from media relations to marketing, branding, and social media. While working for the city, she served two Mayors and nine Council Members.

Prior to her role as Communications Manager for Meridian, Lam served as the City of Meridian Public Works Department Communications Specialist. Lam also worked as the Administrative Specialist for the Public Works and Planning departments at the City of Pullman in Washington and started her career as the Communications Specialist for the NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium.

As the Chief Communications Officer, Lam is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the management of the District's public information, public relations, and community and business relations programs.

While she briefly worked in the private sector, Lam says her heart has led her to serve the public and she finds great joy in serving her community. "I am thrilled to join ACHD's outstanding team in their mission to drive quality transportation for all of Ada County," Lam said. "I have been impressed by the District's commitment to the community, using innovative solutions and transparency to keep residents throughout the county safely connected."

"We are excited to have Shandy join our team as she brings an exceptional depth of experience, tremendous energy, and outstanding insights, taking ACHD to the next level of excellence in collaborative communications strategies," said ACHD Director Bruce Wong.

Lam is a native Idahoan, born and raised in the small town of Potlatch, Idaho. Her degree is in Communications with a minor in Advertising from the University of Idaho.
