ACHD Commission Elects New Leadership in New Year

At Wednesday's Commission Meeting, the Ada County Highway District Commission Members voted to select a Commission president and vice president to lead the elected body over the next year.

At Wednesday's Commission Meeting, the Ada County Highway District Commission Members voted to select a Commission president and vice president to lead the elected body over the next year.

Commissioner May was selected by her peers to lead the group in the new year. Commissioner May has served on the Commission since 2018. The president of the ACHD Commission sets the agenda for each Commission meeting, conducts the Commission meetings, and is the official spokesperson of the Commission. Full story goes here. "I look forward to another year of progress at the Ada County Highway District, led by innovation, collaboration and hard work," said Commission President Mary May. "I look forward to serving as the Commission president and am excited to see a lot of great plans become a reality over the next year."

Commissioner Pickering was chosen to serve as the vice president. Serving in her first term, Pickering is entering her second year serving the District. The vice president takes on presidential duties in the absence of the president.

Commissioner Hansen was elected second vice president to serve in the event of Commissioner Pickering's absence. Commissioner Hansen accepted the nomination and received a unanimous vote for the role. Hansen is serving the District in his third term.

"I'm looking forward to working with Commissioner Pickering and we're excited to jump start the budget conversation, streamline processes and review established policies," concluded President May.
