Karl T. AugustineGarden City - The Ada County Highway District is excited to announce that one of the agency's staff members is being honored with a statewide award. The Idaho Public Purchasing Association (IPPA) presented the 2019 Professional Procurement Manager of the Year Award to Karl T. Augustine, CPPB, Procurement and Contracting Administrator for ACHD.

IPPA recognizes excellence in the procurement profession by presenting several awards each year to outstanding professionals in the field. This award is given to an individual who demonstrates outstanding professionalism and has contributed significantly to the field of public procurement during the calendar year. Processing bids and other procurements for goods, services, and public works construction, Augustine and his staff ensure ethical and compliant purchasing for the county-wide transportation agency.

"I am honored to be recognized by my peers for my work in procurement," Augustine said. "I have always worked to not only promote the procurement profession, but to do so in a way that shines the best light on Ada County Highway District and its commitment to excellence."

Augustine also says this award wouldn't have been possible without the great support from the Commission, ACHD staff and especially his team. He has been with ACHD for nearly 14 years and was hired to be the District's first procurement professional.

As the statewide chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Procurement in Idaho, IPPA is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the advancement of the procurement profession through the provision of outreach, education, and professional development, as well as, the promotion of national certification to its members.
