TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Roadway Impacts Saturday for IRONMAN 70.3 Boise

ADA COUNTY — The IRONMAN 70.3 Boise will mean several road closures in the Boise area on Saturday. The event includes a 1.2-mile swim at Lucky Peak Reservoir, a 56-mile bike ride from Lucky Peak through Kuna, and a 13.1-mile run along the Boise River Greenbelt, finishing in Julia Davis Park.

Drivers can expect road closures and lane restrictions along the bicycle course from Lucky Peak through Southeast Boise, south into Kuna, and back toward downtown Boise. Signage and traffic control will be in place, and will be removed as participants finish the course.

Greenbelt users can also expect detours and increased activity, particularly around Julia Davis Park during the run portion of the race.

Full Road Closures:

  • Highway 21: Lucky Peak Viewpoint Road to Lucky Peak Dam Road — 3:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Pleasant Valley Road: Gowen Road to Ten Mile Creek Road — 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Kuna Mora Road: S. Cole Road to West of Blacks Creek Road — 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • S. Cole Road: Kuna Mora Road to Ten Mile Creek Road — 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Ten Mile Creek Road: Five Mile Creek Road to Pleasant Valley Road — 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • River Street: N. Capitol Boulevard to Julia Davis Drive — 2:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Julia Davis Drive: River Street to south of Zoo Boise — 2:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Partial Road Closures:

  • Highway 21/Gowen Road (south side): Lucky Peak to Pleasant Valley Road — 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Pleasant Valley Road (east side): Ten Mile Creek Road to Kuna Mora Road — 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • N. Capitol Boulevard (east side): W. University Drive to River Street — 3:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Gowen Road (south side): Pleasant Valley Road to S. Federal Way — 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • S. Federal Way / N. Capitol Boulevard (east side): Gowen Road to River Street — 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM
