ACHD Kicks Off 2027–2031 Five Year Plan, Invites Public Feedback

Post Date:01/22/2026

ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District is seeking public feedback as the agency kicks off development of its 2027–2031 Five Year Plan.

ACHD’s Five Year Plan is a planning document that helps determine the projects and priorities the agency will pursue over the next five years. The first two years of the plan align with ACHD’s budget. The plan provides a framework for coordinating efforts among elected officials, staff, partner agencies, and the public.

The first round of public comment begins today and runs through Thursday, February 19. During this time, members of the public are encouraged to share which transportation projects are most important to them.

Public comments can be submitted through ACHD’s website, which includes an interactive map and a survey. Residents can rank projects that have been identified, and also have the option to complete a survey to provide additional input on future transportation needs.

This comment period is one of several opportunities for the public to weigh in on the development of this important planning tool.

ACHD is also seeking input from partner agencies throughout the plan’s development process, including cities and school districts, to help ensure projects align with regional goals and community priorities. Residents are encouraged to share their transportation priorities directly with their local agencies, in addition to providing feedback to ACHD. Support from partner agencies helps inform project prioritization and can increase the likelihood of a project moving forward.

A draft of the 2027–2031 Five Year Plan will be available for additional public comment this summer, with a final draft expected to be presented to the ACHD Commission for adoption this fall.
