Post Date:08/27/2025

ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District Commission has approved the Fiscal Year 2026 budget.

Commissioners approved the $257 million budget in a 5-0 decision during the August 27 public hearing. The approved spending plan includes projects to increase safety and mobility, and also provides for the maintenance and operation of Ada County’s roads, sidewalks, traffic signals, bike lanes, and related infrastructure. The budget includes a $125 million capital program for more than 100 projects.

Fiscal Year 2026 begins October 1.

By a 5-0 vote, the Commission also approved a resolution to recover $2.1 million in foregone property tax revenue from prior years. Approximately $1.6 million will be used for the upcoming Linder Road and Floating Feather project, and approximately $500,000 will be used for maintenance and operations for the District.

“I appreciate the hard work of our staff in developing this budget and for the effort they will put into carrying it out on behalf of our residents,” said Commission President Miranda Gold. “We provide tremendous value to the people of Ada County, and this budget reflects that commitment.”

A recording of the public hearing is available on ACHD’s website. The full budget packet will also be posted once finalized.
