Southwest Mobility Project

General Description:

ACHD recognizes that the southwest region of Ada County is growing rapidly and improving safety and mobility for all is a priority. ACHD is planning to improve many of the arterial roadways (the roads that carry the most traffic) over the next several years. Many of these roads will need to be expanded to balance the needs of motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists. Improvements might include:

• Widening roads to 3 to 5 lanes
• Multi-use pathways for pedestrians and bicyclists
• Improved or signalized pedestrian crossings
• Center medians
• Center two-way left turn lanes
• Speed management techniques to slow traffic, such as roundabouts
• Street trees and other landscaping through partnerships with local agencies

Please check out the following information. ACHD hosted a survey in August 2021 to help understand people's experiences and priorities while driving, walking, and/or biking. This information will help ACHD plan improvements that better meet the community-wide needs. While your comments are always welcome the survey closed on September 6th.
