Kuna-Mora Road Corridor Study, Phase I

General Description:

On Wednesday, November 19, 2008, the ACHD Commission adopted the Phase I study recommendations.

Phase II of the Kuna-Mora Road Corridor Study begain in fall 2009. To learn about Phase II, visit the Kuna Mora Road Corridor Study Phase II page.

Phase I Goals:

• Analyze the 21-mile Kuna-Mora Road Corridor from the Canyon County line to Interstate 84.
• Determine the future traffic needs of the corridor.
• Identify the corridor's intended function.
• Establish a planning document for right-of-way preservation and policy-setting purposes.
• Determine the appropriate interchange and intersection locations and typical cross-sections for the roadway.

Project History:

Communities in Motion, the long-range transportation planning document established by the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS), determined that Kuna-Mora Road is vital to the region due to its potential as an alternate to I-84. The Plan recommended that Kuna-Mora Road from McDermott Road to I-84 be preserved as an expressway.
