Construction Update as of 3/14/19: Construction will begin the week of February 18th. This project is being built in conjunction with the Linder, Ustick to McMillan project. The initial phase of work will focus on utility relocations and irrigation crossings.

There will be a weekend closure on Linder Road between McMillan and Chinden on March 16th-17th, for irrigation work.

About the Project:

At the end of February construction will begin on the Linder Road, Ustick to Chinden projects. When complete Linder Road will feature:

  • Two lanes in each direction, with a center turn lane
  • Bike lanes
  • Curb, gutter and sidewalk
  • Signalized pedestrian crossings at Monument Street and at the Meridian Fire Station
  • Learn more about the segment between Ustick and McMillan roads.

Construction Impacts
Impacts could include lane restrictions with flaggers, temporary closures, general construction noise, dust, equipment back up alarms, and ground vibration.

General Description:

  • Widen roadway to include two travel lanes in each direction and a center turn lane.
  • Construct curb, gutter and separated sidewalk to match existing on east side of the road.
  • Add pedestrian signal and crosswalk on Linder at Meridian Fire Station.
  • Add bike lanes on both sides.

Project Purpose

  • Improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.
  • Accommodate existing and future traffic volumes.
