Downtown Boise Road Work
New changes are coming to the streets of Downtown Boise this fall. The Ada County Highway District is working to bring transportation improvements to the downtown core. Construction will begin September 2nd and is expected to be complete by the middle of November.
One-way to two-way street conversions:
Signal changes/additions: As streets transition from one-way to two-way traffic patterns, new traffic signals will need to be installed. This will include adding additional signal poles, mast arms, signal heads, and wiring. Significant changes will also be made to signal equipment in the controller boxes.
Roads to be milled and resurfaced:
Some of the work will be done at night to minimize impacts to traffic. Crews could potentially work 7 days a week. No lane closures will be allowed between the hours of 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., and between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
These improvements are all part of the Downtown Boise Implementation Plan. Click here for more information on the Downtown Boise Implementation Plan.
