Project Purpose

  • Improve safety
  • Improve accessibility for residents and businesses
  • Enhance the neighborhood feel of the 27th Street area

Background

This project came from the 30th Street Area Master Plan. The plan calls for 27th Street to become a neighborhood commercial district, improving safety and accessibility for residents and businesses.

The completion of Whitewater Park Boulevard (also known as the 30th Street Extension) will reduce commuter traffic on 27th Street. With lower traffic volumes the 27th Street area will become a more pedestrian friendly, residential and mixed commercial district.
