The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will be constructing improvements to two downtown streets starting this summer: State St. between 16th St. and 2nd St. and 9th St. between State St. and Bannock St.
The purpose of the projects is to replace the aging roadway, increase safety and comfort for those that use State Street and 9th Street, and add green stormwater treatment facilities.
Construction is scheduled to start summer 2022 and continue until early summer 2023.

State Street, 14th Street to 12th Street
- Widen roadway to include left turn lanes at 13th Street
- Add enhanced pedestrian crossings at the 14th and 12th street intersections
- To safely accommodate pedestrians, motorists will not be able to make a left turn onto southbound 14th Street or northbound 12th Street from State Street. Motorists will need to proceed one block east or west instead.
