2018 Downtown Boise Implementation Plan

Construction update as of 9/14/18:  The Notice to Proceed was May 21st.

General Description:
The Ada County Highway District will begin work this spring to reconstruct several roadway segments in downtown Boise as part of the Downtown Boise Implementation Plan, a plan to bring transportation improvements to the downtown core.  This plan includes replacing and upgrading pedestrian ramps, patching soft spots, and milling and overlay work.   The following roadway segments will be effected:

    • 2nd Street between Myrtle Street and Front Street: Concrete work is complete. Milling and paving is scheduled for September 20th-23rd. Work will be done at night and through the weekend.

 

    • 4th Street between Grove Street and State Street:  Paving is complete. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments and permanent striping

 

    • Avenue A between Myrtle Street and Front Street: Milling and paving is scheduled for September 20th-23rd. Work will be done at night and through the weekend.

 

    • Front Street between 16th Street and 13th Street: Paving is complete. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments and permanent striping.

 

    • River Street between 9th Street and Capitol Boulevard:  Paving is complete. The road was re-opened on September 12th. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments and permanent striping.

 

    • 4th Street south of Myrtle Street/Broad Street: Milling and paving is scheduled for September 20th-23rd. Work will be done at night and through the weekend.

 

    • 8th Street between Myrtle Street and Broad Street: Paving is complete. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments and permanent striping.

 

    • Broad Street between 9th Street and 8th Street: Paving is complete. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments and permanent striping.

 

Access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times. Lane closures, parking restrictions, intersection closures, and possibly full road closures will be necessary for the construction of this project.  Work hours that require lane closures during the day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.;  Work will be permitted to begin earlier as long as it does not impact traffic.  Nighttime work, if needed, will be between 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.   Road and intersection closures will be limited, when possible, to weekends and any closures will have seven (7) days advance notice.
