Ada County Highway District

Columbus Street, Overland Road to Kootenai Street

Update as of 5/17/19:

Columbus is closed between Overland and Kootenai.

Suez is currently working on water line replacement on Columbus and Overland. This work is expected to last through the end of May.

Crews are working on irrigation pipe installation and storm drain pipe installation. Crews are working on installing street lighting as well.

There was a preconstruction conference on February 8th. Crews will begin with tree and bush removals/trimming the week of February 11th. This work will require lane restrictions and flagging. Columbus Road is expected to close as early as February 25th, to allow for irrigation work and utility relocations.

Originally, this project was to be constructed during the spring/summer of 2018. Unfortunately, the bids we received for construction were not satisfactory. As a result, the project went back out to bid the fall of 2018 and construction is set to begin late February 2019.

General Description:

  • Construct curb, gutter and sidewalk on both sides of Columbus Street.
  • Maintain on-street parking on both sides of the street.
  • Rebuild the roadway.
  • Sharrows (shared lane markings) will be painted on the street after the rebuild.
  • View the project design under "Related Documents" to the right of your screen.
