Work to remove and replace the bridge structure that runs diagonally through the 11th Street and Main Street intersection in downtown Boise began in mid-February 2013 and was completed on March 21, 2013. The structure, which carries water for the Boise City Canal, was old and deteriorated.
Crews will work daytime hours, generally between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Work outside of these hours is possible, however must be approved by ACHD. Due to the accelerated schedule for this project, crews are permitted to work on weekends.
Sidewalk on the northwest, northeast and southeast corners of the intersection will be impacted at times during construction; however all three corners will not be impacted at the same time and sidewalk detours will be in place.
On-street parking will be restricted during certain points in construction, as parking lanes will be utilized as traffic lanes. Restrictions are dependent on which segment of the project crews are working on.
