Ada County Highway District

Amity Road Bridges #301 and #302 (2013)

General Description:

Beginning on October 21, or soon thereafter, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will begin work to replace two bridges along Amity Road between McDermott Road and Black Cat Road, which span the Ridenbaugh Highline Canal and Ridenbaugh Canal. Crews will remove and replace the bridges due the deteriorating structural integrity. The bridges were constructed in 1959 and 1963.

The contractor will work to re-construct the two bridges at the same time. Working on the bridges at the same time will allow the project to be finished two months sooner than if they were constructed separately. Completion of the project is planned for mid-January, 2014.

During construction, a closure of Amity Road between McDermott and Black Cat Road will be in place. Vehicles will be able to travel up to the vicinity of the bridges, but will not be able to pass over them during the work. Residents who live near the bridge will need to access their homes from the respective end of Amity Road or utilize South Ridgewood Road.
