May 20, 2022 Update: Irene is open to traffic. Drain culvert for repair work. Installing SD on Bella. Sidewalk curb and paving remaining. Working on water issues currently.

May 12, 2022 Update: Irene is open to traffic.  Bella St. closed. Storm drain siphon being installed under culvert. Sidewalk on southeast corner of Bella remains. Paving remains.

May 6, 2022 Update: Irene is open to traffic. Bella St. closed. SD Siphon being installed under culvert. Sidewalk on SE corner of Bella remains. Paving remains.

April 29, 2022 Update: Irene is open to traffic. Bella St. closed for culvert placement. Placing curb. Landscaping and fence installation starting 18th. Sidewalk and curb placed. Storm drain ongoing.

April 15, 2022 Update: Irene is open to traffic. Bella Street closed for culvert placement. Placing curb. Landscaping and fence installation starting April 18th.  Irrigation structure on Bella complete. Culvert backfilled and road work being prepped.

March 4, 2022 Update: Contractor installing culvert sections, starting at Irene. Placing gravel for road work. Curb and gutter being prepped on Irene. Asphalt planned for March 3rd - weather dependent.

December 9, 2021 Update: Preconstruction meeting scheduled for November 12th. Notice to proceed is November 30th. Anticipated start December 9th - Suez work.

November 4, 2021 Update: As part of the Ada County Highway District's (ACHD) Bridge Maintenance Program, ACHD will start construction on the 24th Street Bridge and Road Project between Irene Street and Bella Street early December. Construction is anticipated to be complete spring of 2022. The purpose of this project is to replace aging bridge structures, rehabilitate the street, and improve pedestrian connectivity. 

Construction Impacts:

• Lane restrictions
• Temporary on-street parking impacts
• General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms and ground vibration
• Crews will work from 7a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved
• The contractor will work with homeowners to maintain access

Project Description:

• Replace three underground bridge structures over the Boise City Canal. The underground structures cross Bella and Irene near 24^thand also run underneath 24^th street between Bella and Irene.
• Due to the extensive nature of the work, a full roadway rebuild will be necessary on 24th Street between Irene Street and Bella Street. This will also include adding sidewalks on both sides of the street.
