Federal Way and Findley Intersection

General Description

As early as March 20, 2017 crews will begin installing accessible pedestrian signals at the intersection of Federal Way and Findley Avenue. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the beginning of May. The project includes:

  • Replacing the existing pedestrian signals with accessible signals. The new signals communicate WALK and DON’T WALK information in non-visual ways to pedestrians who are blind or have low vision. When the button is pushed the signal will “talk” to the user letting them know if and when it is okay to cross. This also includes rebuilding the existing pedestrian ramps.
  • Reconstruct the curb and sidewalk at the southwest corner of intersection to make it easier for trucks with trailers to turn the corner onto Findley.
Traffic and Construction Impacts
  • During construction both Findley and Federal Way will have lane restrictions with flagging.
  • Impacts may also include: general construction noise, dust, equipment back up alarms and ground vibration.
  • Work is expected to occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
