Shamrock Bikeway Proposal

General Description

The Shamrock Bikeway Concept Report was adopted by the Ada County Commission on April 24, 2013.

Concept Report - all

Chapters:

................

The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) and the City of Boise are working on a proposal to create a north/south bikeway along the Shamrock Avenue Corridor between DeMeyer Park on the north, and President Drive on the south. Several different treatments are proposed along the corridor including new striping in the street, signage, and signalized pedestrian crossings at major roadways. Please note that the signalized pedestrian crossings will not predetermine future traffic signal locations.

What is a bikeway?
A bikeway is a street that accommodates both vehicles and bicyclists in the same travel lane. Normally, the most suitable streets for shared use are those with low speeds or low traffic volumes.
