Cloverdale Road and Ustick Road Intersection

General Description

Design of the Cloverdale Road and Ustick Road intersection began in late March 2010 and will wrap up in December 2010 or early 2011.

Project Description

  • Widen intersection to 6-lanes on all approaches to include: one left-turn lane, two through-lanes in each direction and one right-turn lane
  • Stripe road for bike lanes
  • Install a HAWK pedestrian signal near Ustick Elementary School
  • Replace existing bridge on Cloverdale Road, just north of the intersection
  • Construct 5 to 7-foot sidewalks with curb and gutter
  • Landscaping (specific landscaping type will be determined by Boise City at a later stage in design)

Project Purpose

The intersection widening project is based on recommendations from the West Bench Circulation Study and ranks among the top five on Boise City's Intersection Rebuild List. Widening the intersection will reduce congestion at the crossing of two arterial roadways, allowing for better traffic flow. The Ustick Road Concept Design and the Cloverdale Road Concept Design both show the need to improve this intersection before other projects in the area are started.

Public Involvement

On Wednesday, July 28, 2010 a public open house was held to introduce the proposed intersection improvements. Please see the upper right hand side of this page for materials and displays presented.

To submit your comments regarding the proposed design, click here. While comments are always welcome, they can be best utilized at this stage of the project if received by August 11, 2010. Additional public outreach will occur later in the project design. To sign up to receive project updates, enter your email address in the "subscribe" section on this page.
