The Five-Year Work Plan and the
Capital Improvements Plan show the near- and long-term projects to be undertaken
by ACHD. The Five-Year plan is a working document, and list the status of projects
the District will build within the next few years. It states the basic project schedule,
including the years and dollars devoted to right-of-way acquisition and construction.
The Capital Improvements Plan is a more strategic document, outlying the projects
that are anticipated to be needed in coming years based on traffic models and assumptions
on growth patterns. While the CIP lists project years and funding estimates, this
is largely a planning document and those entries will be honed as the projects move
onto the Five-Year plan and undergo greater analysis.
