The ACHD Director oversees the day-to-day operation of the District and works with
the Board of Commissioners to set policy and long-range direction. The Director
is the one employee directly hired by the elected Commissioners and is responsible
for the management of the ACHD workforce.
Bruce S. Wong became Director on February 7, 2011. Wong is a retired
U.S. Air Force Colonel who was once chief of staff of Mountain Home
Air Force Base. During his time in the service, Wong oversaw major
construction projects, including the construction of roads, air
strips and upgrades to air base infrastructure. Wong has also been in the business world, working
for Albertson/Supervalu among other entities.
